Regarding the admission from April 19th to May 6th 2024

During the large holiday period from April 19th (Fri) to May 6th (Mon, national holiday), 2024, it is expected that a large number of people will visit due to the blooming of wisteria. There are some changes and points to note from our usual guidance for admission, so please confirm the following information before your visit.


〇Re-entry to the Premises Permitted
If you have an admission ticket for the day, re-entry is permitted. Please show it to the staff at each gate for re-entry.
*Please note that you must have a ticket with the date of the current day. Re-entry will not be allowed if lost.

〇Partial Cancellation of Museum Hoshokan Exhibition
Exhibitions such as videos reproducing the interior of the hall at the time of construction using CG, and the corner exhibition of relics such as tiles and ceremonial tools, will be canceled.

〇Changes in Goshuin Granting Content and Time
For the Phoenix Hall Goshuin only, both direct entries in the Goshuin Book and pre-written slips are available.
*Although the opening hours are from 9:00 to 17:00, please note that if there are many applicants, the reception may close more than an hour before.

〇Closed Days for the Tea Room Toka
April 22nd (Mon), 23rd (Tue), 24th (Wed), 30th (Tue), and May 1st (Wed) will be closed.
The opening hours remain the same, from 10:00 to 16:30 (last order at 16:00).

〇Estimated Waiting Time for Interior Visit of Phoenix Hall
There may be a waiting time of up to 2 to 3 hours.
If you wish, please purchase the interior visit ticket first and then proceed with the visit.
Re-entry is possible during the period, so you can go outside the premises during the waiting time.
However, please be sure to return within the admission time indicated on the ticket, as changes or refunds will not be accommodated.


During the large holiday period from April 27th (Sat) to May 6th (Mon, national holiday), including surrounding roads, heavy congestion is expected, so we kindly ask you to use public transportation as much as possible when visiting.

Additionally, from April 27th (Sat) to May 5th (Sun), there will be traffic restrictions on Byodoin Omotesando leading to the Byodoin front gate, from 9:00 to 17:00.
Since tourist vehicles will not be allowed to enter Byodoin Omotesando from Ujibashi Nishizume intersection, taxi users are kindly asked to come to the south gate.
