Repair of the Phoenix Hall of Byodoin Temple, a National Treasure

As indicated below, reroofing and painting work will be conducted on the Phoenix Hall of Byodoin Temple, a National Treasure of Japan.
During this work, the Phoenix Hall be covered by a temporary roof and surrounded by scaffolding and other equipment. We apologize for any inconvenience to visitors, but please understand that this is crucial work for continuing to pass down this precious cultural property. We would like to ask for your cooperation to ensure safety and satisfactory progress of the construction work.

Scheduled period: Sept. 3, 2012 to March 31, 2014

During the repair period, tours inside of the Phoenix Hall will be halted, but the Byodoin Museum Hoshokan which displays the majority of National Treasures will be open as usual. Entrance fees during the repair period will be as follows.

Entrance fees during the Phoenix Hall repair (group rates will remain unchanged)

Adults: 300 yen
Junior/Senior high school students: 200 yen
Elementary school students: 150 yen
