Starting Friday, October 16, 2026, the maximum capacity for interior tours of the Phoenix Hall will be changed from 50 to35visitors.

This adjustment has been made in light of recent changes in visitor circumstances, as we felt it had become difficult for visitors to offer their prayers to Amida Nyorai with a peaceful and serene mind under the previous capacity limit. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and deeply appreciate your kind understanding and cooperation.

Owing to this change, waiting times for the interior tour of the Phoenix Hall are expected to be longer than usual during peak seasons, such as spring and autumn.
While re-entry to the temple grounds is generally not permitted, guests holding a valid interior tour ticket for the Phoenix Hall may re-enter by presenting their ticket to our staff at the main reception gate. We kindly invite you to utilize this option to relax at nearby facilities while awaiting your scheduled time. (A waiting time of approximately one hour can be comfortably spent exploring the garden and the Hoshokan Museum. If you wish to visit the interior of the Phoenix Hall, we kindly ask that you purchase your tour ticket first.)
